STELLA

I am an artist living in Charlottesville, Virginia. I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2010 with degrees in Studio Art and Russian Language and Literature, and I now work as Intergenerational Arts Coordinator at the Jefferson Area Board for Aging (JABA). In 2009, I began a project called Shared Doings and Sayings in which I organized and led weekly art sessions for persons with dementia at four Charlottesville memory care centers. I have found great inspiration and wisdom in my interactions and friendships with older adults and persons with disabilities and terminal illnesses. It is from their stories and our conversations that STELLA began to take shape.
